Reserving your room
Should I rent a golf cart?
Palm Island requires you to park shortly after departing the ferry, and you can use a golf cart to travel around the island during your stay! If you choose not to rent a cart, we will have bellhops available for arrivals, departures, the wedding ceremony, and reception, but who doesn't love whipping around in a golf cart?
What if I want to stay outside the room block?
If you want to explore additional options for your Palm Island villa, or simply take a look at what all villas have to offer, visit bookings-palmisland.escapia.com. Please note that a villa may show as reserved for our wedding weekend due to being part of our room block and is not necessarily booked. All villas are eligible for the discounted rate if you mention that you are with our wedding!
What if I want to stay off the island?
While you are free to book your preferred hotel, we highly recommend booking on the island, as guests will receive free ferry passes, not be subject to the ferry run times, and have the opportunity to rent a golf cart for transport around the island.
Transportation
Where should I fly into?
Uniquely situated between a few airports, there are a variety of options to accommodate your needs! We recommend flying into Sarasota (SRQ) or Fort Myers (RSW), equating to a bit over a 1-hour journey from the airport to the ferry. Otherwise, Tampa (TPA) or St. Petersburg (PIE) offer journeys under 2 hours as well. While this is not an exhaustive list, these are the largest airports in the area that should offer a strong balance between convenience and affordability.
How should I get from the airport to the island?
The island will require you to park your car upon leaving the ferry, allowing you to either walk, bike, or use a golf cart, so a car will not be necessary for the majority of your stay. However, if you wish to stock up on food & beverages, make day trips to the mainland during your stay, or want a car for any other reason, we recommend renting a vehicle to car-pool with friends (A 1-2BR villa only receives one parking spot, and a 3BR villa receives two). Otherwise, ride-share services may make the most sense and allow you to kick your feet up & relax the moment you step into sunny Florida!
